Women's T20 Challenge: Supernovas Defeated Velocity, Both Teams In Finals


After the unbeaten half-century of Jemima Rodriguez, the Super Bowl made it to the final by defeating Velocity by 12 runs in the final league match of the Women's T20 Challenge.

The Velocity team also managed to make the final place in the finals, despite the defeat, while the team of trailblazers got out. The three teams had two or two points in each of the two matches each, but the supernova's team stayed on top due to the better net run rate, while Velocity finished second to play in the final, which will be played on May 11 at Savaiya Mansingh stadium.

Chasing the target of 143 runs of Supernovas, the team of Velocity could make 130 runs in three wickets, despite the innings of Danielle Wyatt (43) and captain Mithali Raj (40 not out at 42 balls). Although the team had to suffer the mild batting of Mithali and Veda Krishnamurthy (30 not out from 29 balls).

Poonam Yadav picked up a wicket with just 13 runs in four overs on behalf of Supernovas. Radha Yadav and Anuja Patil picked up one wicket each for 30 and 28 runs respectively.

Supernovas earlier made 142 for three wickets, thanks to Jemimah's unbeaten 77. Jemimah faced 48 balls and hit 10 fours and a six. She shared 50-runs partnership with opener Chamari Athapaththu (31) for the second wicket and also share with the 55-runs partnership with Sophie Devine (09) for the third wicket.

Amelia Kerr was the most successful bowler from Velocity's side who took two wickets for 21 runs. Shikha Pandey bowled economically, giving 17 runs in four overs to get one wicket.
