Alwar Gangrape Case: Police Officer's Negligence, Two Officers Suspended Including SP, Four Accused Arrested

In Rajasthan, the police have asked the husband to wait for the end of the election process to file a case against a woman in the Thanagaji police station area of Alwar district in connection with the gang rape of five accused in front of the husband.

The victim's husband prayed several times to the senior police officers in this regard to take action against the accused, but she was ignored. During this case, the accused made the video viral on Whatsapp.

However, after the case was exposed on Tuesday when opposition parties including BJP criticized the government, the police took action and arrested three accused. On Wednesday, Alwar Superintendent of Police Rajiv Takkar was removed and the APO (in waiting for the posting) was done and the police officer suspended and four police personnel were sent to the police line.

On April 26, the accused stopped the couple going to the motorcycle on the Thanagaji-Alwar road and beat the husband. The incident lasted nearly three hours. Initially, we kept silent, but when the accused demanded money from me for not making the videos viral, I went to the office of the Superintendent of Police and complained to him about this.

The Superintendent of Police sent me to Thanagaji Thana, where the police officer took my complaint but did not register an FIR.

They told that the police officer took them to the spot on the same day and asked them to come later. He told that the next day when I met the station officer, he said that polices personnel were busy in the election. The victim said that one of the accused had called her on April 30 and demanded money. The accused said that if money is not given, they will viral the video of misbehavior on Whatsapp.

The victim claimed that he had given information about the mobile number of the accused to the police, but the police delayed the action by saying that they were busy in the election process.

When the matter came on Tuesday in social media, then the Congress government's other opposition parties, including the BJP, criticized it in this matter, then the police took action and arrested three accused.

On Wednesday, Alwar Superintendent of Police Rajiv Paksha was removed and an APO was suspended and the police officer suspended and four police personnel were sent to the police line.
Four accused involved in the incident have been arrested. Indrapras Gurjar, and Kailash Gurjar are accused of misbehaving, while the third accused Mukesh Gurjar made the video viral on social media. The accused, Mukesh Gurjar, has been arrested under the IT Act.
The accused Indrapras and Kailash were arrested on Tuesday night, while Mukesh was arrested on Wednesday. The fourth accused was arrested on Wednesday night. Police said that the accused has been identified as Mahesh Gurjar. The accused allegedly committed a crime with the woman.

NHRC Issues Notice Against The Government

Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the state the government on Wednesday and has sought a report in this case within six weeks.

Taking cognition on media reports, the Commission has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police. On the other hand, the opposition BJP has accused the government of deliberately concealing the matter for political reasons during the elections, which the ruling Congress has dismissed and strict action would be taken against the accused.

"It is a very serious and embarrassing incident” said by BJP’s Madan Lal Saini. During elections, the government has kept it hidden for political reasons.

"BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Kirody Lal Meena has demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister and has also demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter. Meena has written a letter to the President about his demands.

Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said that strict action will be taken against the accused. Politics of the matter should not be done. He said that three accused have been arrested and 14 groups have been formed to look for other accused.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also condemned the incident in stern words. On the other hand, many people were rallies on Wednesday in protest against the incident in Alwar, Dausa, Jaipur, Churu and several other areas of the state and demanded death penalty for the accused. Elections were held on May 6 in Alwar from 12 Lok Sabha seats of the second phase in Rajasthan.
