WC 2019:- For Dinesh Karthik, it will be difficult to get a place in the playing XI

Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has been given the preference for young Rishabh Pant in the Indian team for the World Cup which begins on May 30. With this, young Vijay Shankar, K L Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja have also been able to make the place in the 15-member team of India.

Surprisingly not to choose Pant, who is considered to be the successor of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in one-day cricket.

Pant has so far scored 222 runs in IPL, while Karthik has scored 93 runs. However, Rahul has scored 335 runs in the IPL so far. Senior selection committee chairman MSK Prasad said, "Due to better wicketkeeping of Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant could not make the place in the team. Wicketkeeping also matters.

That's why we chose Karthik, otherwise, Pant would also be in the team. Karthik will remain as a backup of Dhoni. His selection in the last eleven is not fixed.

Here is the complete list of players who have made a place in 15 players for the World Cup 2019:
