Mitchell Santner hit a six on Ben Stokes's ball to win Chennai. The team of Chennai Super Kings was struggling with a wicket of Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav on a score of 24 runs at one time. Captain MS Dhoni, along with Ambati Rayudu, brought Chennai out of the crisis situation.
