RCB vs KXIP, IPL 2019, 42nd Match: Bangalore third consecutive win, Beat Punjab by 17 runs


Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kings XI Punjab by 17 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 on Wednesday with the help of Navdeep Saini's spectacular bowling attack in the 19th over after century a partnership of AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis.

RCB's De Villiers scored an unbeaten 82 not out in 44 balls with seven sixes and three fours, and with Stoney's (46 not out), he shared an unbroken partnership of 121 runs for the fifth wicket, RCB scored 202 runs for four wickets. Opener Parthiv Patel also scored 43 runs.

Chasing the target, the Punjab team made a spectacular start. Kings XI Punjab needed 60 runs to win in the last five overs.

The Punjab team needed 30 runs in the last two overs. AB de Villiers grab the superb catch of David Miller in Saini's ball in the 19th over and ended the 68-run partnership. Miller scored 24 runs in 25 balls with two fours. Nicholas Pooran also gave catches to the de Villiers on the final ball of the same over.

He faced 28 balls and hit five sixes and one four. Navdeep Saini just gave three runs in this over. The Punjab team needed 27 runs in the last over but Umesh Yadav gave only nine runs in last over and took wickets of R Ashwin (06) and Hardus Viljoen (00).
