Lok Sabha Elections Phase 1:- Voting Peaceful Except For Some Incidents, 63.69% Voting In UP, 53.06% In Bihar, 57.85% In Uttarakhand



On the end of the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission said on Thursday that voting was peaceful except for sporadic incidents. Voting ended at 6 o'clock in the evening. In this phase, voters used their vote in 91 seats in 20 states.
"There have been reports of some issues from some places, in which some places have received complaints of EVM machine disturbances, but overall voting was done peacefully." Election Commission said.

63.69 Percent Voting for 8 Lok Sabha Seats In Uttar Pradesh

In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, the average turnout was 63.69 percent for eight seats in West Uttar Pradesh till 6 pm. In the year 2014, 65.76 percent of the voting took place in these seats.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer L. Venkateswara Loo said after the end of the polling that excepting a minor incident in Shamli, the voting remained completely peaceful everywhere and no untoward incident has been reported from anywhere.

He said that according to the information so far, there were no re-voting issues come from any polling station.

Polling in eight Lok Sabha constituencies started at seven o'clock in the morning. He said that 89 ballot units, 89 control units, and 428 VVPATs were changed when any problem was found during the polling.

He said that till 6 pm, 70.68 percent voting was held in Saharanpur, while in Ghaziabad 57.60 percent, Muzaffarnagar 66.66 percent, Bijnor 65.40 percent, Karaana 62.10 percent, Meerut 63.00 percent, Gautam Buddha city 60.10 percent and in Baghpat 63.90 percent polling.

Bihar 53 Percent Voting For 4 Lok Sabha And 1 In Assembly Seats

In Bihar on Thursday, the four seats of the Lok Sabha - Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jamui and one seat of the Vidhan Sabha ended polling for Nawada. By the evening at 6 pm, 53 percent voting took place in these four Lok Sabha constituencies.

Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar, Sanjay Kumar Singh said that till 6 pm, the percentage of voting in these four Lok Sabha constituencies was an average of nearly 53 percent.

58 Percent Voting For 5 Seats Of Lok Sabha In Uttarakhand

Voting was completed in all the five seats of Lok Sabha in Uttarakhand and about 58 percent of the votes were recorded.

According to information received from State Election Office, about 58 percent of the voters exercised their votes on all the Lok Sabha seats in the state - Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, and Almora. The electoral future of 52 candidates was imprisoned in EVMs. The election results will come on May 23.
