Lok Sabha Elections 2019: How To Check The Voter's Name In The Voter List


To make sure that your name is on the voter's list, you can either log in at electoralsearch.in or call the Voter Helpline on 1950 (with your STD code). In addition, you can SMS from <ECI> Space <EPIC No> to 1950. According to the Election Commission website, EPIC means Electors Photo Identity Card, which is commonly known as a voter identity card.

Find out your polling booth via the voter helpline (with its STD code) or SMS <ECIPS> Location <EPIC No> 1950.

First, the voting officer at the polling booth examines the ID proof of voter, the other voting officer will put ink voter's finger, give a slip and take a sign on a register (Form 17A). A Voter must submit a slip to the third voting officer and show her/his ink finger and then proceed to the polling booth.

If voter's name is listed in voter's list and voter does not have the identity card, then voters can use any of the following ID cards to cast votes: Passport, Driver's License, service Identity Cards with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies, pan card, Aadhar card, among other ID proofs.

Voting for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Counting will start on May 23 and the result will also declare the same day.
