DC Vs RCB, IPL 2019, 46th Match: - Delhi Defeated Bangalore By 16 Runs And Reached In Playoffs Six Years Later

Delhi Capitals faced Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 46th match of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 played at Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium. The Delhi Capitals team defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore  by16-run in this match and take an entry in playoffs of the IPL after 6 years. Earlier, the Delhi team had qualified for the playoffs in the IPL season 2012, while staying at the top of the league stage.

In the match, Delhi Capitals team won the toss and bat first and scored 187 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Bangalore's team could score 171 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 52 runs for Delhi and Shikhar Dhawan scored 51 runs. In the last over, Sherfane Rutherford scored 28 not out and Axar Patel scored an unbeaten 16 to help Delhi score 187 runs.

Bangalore's Innings Shuffled After A Good Start


This is the eighth defeat in 12 matches of Bangalore. THey only won 4 matches. For Bangalore, Yuzvendra Chahal got 2, Washington Sundar, Umesh Yadav, and Navdeep Saini took 1-1wickets.

In response, Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli gave a big start to the Royal Challengers Bangalore, adding 63 runs in the first 5.4 overs. Kagiso Rabada gave Bangalore the first shock as Parthiv Patel.

Parthiv Patel scored 39 runs and Immediately after this Virat Kohli also scored 23 runs and was caught out by Sherfane Rutherford on Axar Patel's ball. After that, RCB wickets continued to fall and AB de Villiers could score 17 runs only Shivam Dube 24 and Heinrich Klaasen became the victims of Amit Mishra by scoring 3 runs.

Delhi Capitals In IPL Playoffs After 6 Years


Marcus Stoinis and Gurkeerat Singh Mann did the best and kept Bangalore in the match. But Gurkeerat was also trapped by Pant on Ishant's ball after scoring 27 runs. Washington Sundar was dismissed by Rabada. Marcus Stonis and Umesh Yadav remained not out. With this victory, Delhi Capitals made it to the IPL playoff for the first time since 2012.


The Royal Challengers Bangalore team is out of the IPL playoffs with this defeat. Now Chennai and Delhi teams have reached the playoffs. Delhi Capitals have 12 points, with 8 wins and 4 defeats, and they are at the top of the table. At the same, Chennai's team is in second place with these figures. Delhi has achieved top position on the basis of run rate.
