Chhattisgarh: -Four Jawans martyred in an encounter with Maoists, 2 injured


In an encounter with the Maoists in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, four BSF Jawans lost their lives and two other jawans were injured.
Senior police officers of the state told the state on Thursday that four Jawans of BSF 114 Battalion were martyred and two other jawans were injured in the encounter between the Maoists and security forces near Mahla village under Parattapur Police Station area of the district.
A police officer said that the force of the security forces had escorted from the camp of BSF at Mahalla. There were also joists of the district force in this group. When the jawans were on a distance, the Maoists started firing on them. After this, the jawans also retaliated.
He told that after the firing from both sides for some time, the Maoists escaped from there. In this incident four jawans were martyrs and two other jawans were injured.

Officers said the injured jawans and bodies were taken out. The campaign against Maoists is continuing in the area. Polling will be held on 18th of this month for the state's Maoists -affected Kanker Lok Sabha seat.
