Ban On Tik Tok, Is It Illegal Or Not?

Reasons To Legally Ban Tik Tok

  • Pornography and Mental Health:
"In addition to insulting culture and encouraging pornography, including pedophiles and clear disturbing materials, social stigma and mental health issue between adolescence." It is clear from the media reports that In cyber, pornography and inappropriate content are available.

  • Potential performance of children for sexual predators:
Children who are "vulnerable to experimentation and can bring them to the front of sexual predators" ... children are exposed to strangers and hand out pictures of strangers and other personal details. There is a possibility to go in hands of predators or third parties." "Children are likely to contact and entice strangers directly."

But Due to Violation Of Section 79 of the IT Act is Illogical:-

Section 79 of the Information Technology Act in India provides security to online media and platforms from lawsuits and defamation.  Therefore, due to this argument, the ban on TikTokin India is totally illogical and illegal due to the content shared on the platform. TikTok, as an online platform, can challenge this order.
