Australian players David Warner and Steve Smith, “got away with murder”: Curtly Ambrose

West Indian fast bowler Curtly Ambrose feels that the Australian pair of Steve Smith and David Warner  "got away with murder" and for two years their role in the Ball Tempering scandal should have been banned.

Former captain Smith and his deputy Warner were banned for one year by Cricket Australia for their role in attempting to rough up one side of the ball with Sandpaper during the 3rd Test against South Africa at Cape Town in March of last year.

After the end of their ban on March 29, both of them are currently playing in the Indian Premier League. Smith and Warner are trying to return to their place in the Australian team for this year's World Cup and Ashes tour.

"When you break the law like this, you should be punished, I honestly thought that they got away with murder, one year was a bit lenient, I would have said two years to send the message only, because it really was stupid.
